Evelyn/ Fall update and pics

Evelyn had her one year check up last Friday. She weighs 19.5 pounds and is just shy of 30 in. tall. She has 12 teeth! Yes, she's is a teething machine and we are happy to be more than half way done with teething! This transition stage has been a little hard for me! I don't know what to do. No more formula, so what do I feed her that will fill her up enough?! I still don't know but my friend just told me that her kids' doctor told her that their growth from 1-2 years slows way down so they don't need as much food as they did in that first year! That made me feel better! I'm pretty sure she is the pickiest eater ever and one day she will LOVE something and the next day won't even touch it! UGH! So frustrating! I have wasted SO much food on her this past week but with some great advice from a friend, I am going to try something new! I will let you know if it works!! Crossing our fingers! We give her whatever we are eating but she doesn't want very much. I know, it might be because she's just not hungry so then why is it that when I get a cookie, or something like that out, she has no problem eating that right up! That little stinker! She hasn't been waking up in the night (from being hungry. Or at all) so I guess she's getting enough. I hope! We are still transitioning so she still gets two bottles a day but this is definitely going to take some getting used to! She is so funny and fun and beautiful and smart! She is always cracking us up! Who needs entertainment when you have a one year old? She is our best entertainment for sure! She loves to dance and "read" books and snuggle all of her stuffed animals. She is so friendly she waves and says "Hi!" to everyone! She seems to be a little show stopper everywhere we go with her fun little personality and her eyes. That is what almost every one's first comment about her is. They are quite beautiful! She has just started saying "cheese" and "poop" (Oh dear). I think she learned that one from when I would change her diaper and say it. That's when she started to say it at least. She signs "all done" and "More" we are working on please and thank you right now.She is WALKING! I still can't believe it! She gets better everyday but just these last couple of days she has started to really take off! It's really cute! She is just such a joy to be around and we love having her in our family!

We have been up to a lot of fun lately! I can't get enough of the beautiful fall colors so we have taken a lot of walks this fall!

We got some family pictures/ ONE year pictures taken.

(these are just a few that our photographer posted on Facebook. I'll post more once I get the disc)

We went to the pumpkin patch and through the corn maze and got some pumpkins.

We had Evelyn's birthday party!

We dressed up like Mario and Luigi and Princess Peach for Halloween.
We went to our ward Halloween party.
We finally made it to the temple (thanks to Joanna and Cody for babysitting!)
I have been going to aerobics every Tuesday/Thursday night! Jenni teaches a KILLER class and I love it! I'll admit, sometimes its hard to get motivated to go. After a long day with Evelyn, I'm really tired. But once I get there, I am so glad I got my lazy bum in gear and went! And I feel so much better after I go and get some exercise and chat it up with my gal pals!
Jarom has been working so hard every day! School is really hard for him this semester so that's a bummer! Good thing it's almost over!
Oh, And this is what happened yesterday!

SNOW!!! We are still enjoying it today and I LOVE it!!! I can't wait to get Evelyn out there and see how she likes it!!
I just think it's so pretty!

ONE year?!

Has is really already been ONE year?! I can't help but think about how different my day was one year ago today, than it is right now. One year ago, right this second, I was laying on the couch watching parenthood, timing my contractions, not sure if I was really in Labor, contemplating whether I should tell Jarom yet or not. Well I did tell him and it was a good thing because I was in labor and just 5 hours and 19 min. later we were about to meet our sweet little Evelyn for the first time!

It was a sunny day and the colors were beautiful!  We drove to the hospital and all I could think of was "I really hope I'm in labor right now and they don't send me home without a baby!" We walked in to labor and delivery and they said "Can I help you?" I said "I think I'm in Labor." Ha ha all the nurses giggled a little bit and said "let's check you" Sure enough I was at a 5 1/2 and they let me stay! Little did we know that things would progress SO quickly and we would get to meet our Evie even sooner then we had thought! She came out in no time with a thin layer of dark hair, Rosie cheeks and a loud scream! She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! When they set her on my belly, I just couldn't believe that she was the little squirmy baby that had been kicking me and keeping me up at night and twisting all around in my belly! I just kept thinking "I GREW THAT! IN MY BELLY!"

I wanted to show her off instantly! She was the most beautiful, perfect thing I had ever seen! I was a MOM! I had a BABY!! That whole concept was a little mind blowing to me!
I remember watching her proud Daddy hold her and look at her with more love in his eyes then I had ever seen! He was so proud and happy! I was so impressed with how natural he looked with her and how well he took care of her!

We had lots of visitors waiting to meet her so just minutes after she was born they came in! Jenni and Michael, Courtenay and John and Everett, Joanna and Cody, and Ben and Kris and the kids! I was so happy to see them and show off our perfect little beauty! It was kind of crazy to think that just MINUTES before, that baby that we were all swooning over was in my BELLY! It really is a miracle!

I remember thinking "life will never be the same" and it's not, and we couldn't be happier!
Life is definitely harder, but better! And I actually am really excited to do it all over again! Someday!

Anyway, This will forever be one of the best days of my life!

We love you Evelyn! Thank you for joining our family! Happy first Birthday!

Disneyland, Lance style

A couple of weeks ago we got to go to DISNEYLAND with the Lance's! It was so much fun! It is definitely one of the happiest places on earth and I don't think I could ever get sick of it!

I will say though, that it is different with a baby! You have to take things A LOT slower, take breaks for naps( which is actually pretty nice), you can't just jump from ride to ride(more like line to line), or do whatever you want, but it's still fun and well worth it, I think!

Evelyn did GREAT while we were there! I was so surprised at how well she adapted to everything! I think there was one night that she did get a little confused with us waking her up from naps all day long and a totally wacky schedule so she woke up like an hour after we put her to bed and was SO hyper and giggly and just wanted to play and climb all over us. So that was rough because we were so pooped from walking around DLand all day but other than that, she was an angel! Until we got home! UGH! The week after we got home was miserable. Probably a combination of getting 3 teeth (2 of which were molars) and getting back to a regular schedule and being sick, but SHEESH! I am so glad that week is over!

We had such a fun time and I can't wait to go back(Whenever that will be?)! Jarom's Dad brought his big camera around with us so he got a lot of good pictures and it was nice for us because that was one less thing I had to worry about while we were there! I don't know about you, but when I am on vacation I get stressed that I won't take enough pictures or get any good pictures. So it was nice to have someone else worry about it and then get all the good pictures to share! :) Anyways, There were SO many good pictures so I just made a video with some of them. The music is from the fantasmic show at Disneyland! So magical!

It's always a good time

Evelyn is getting so big! She has taken 3 steps at a time but that is the most she has done! It is all very exciting but I am in no hurry for her to grow up! She is such a joy to be around! She has such a spunky, sassy personality and gets excited about almost everything! She is always making us laugh. She makes the funniest faces and has the cutest, girliest voice!!

This has been one of our favorite summertime activities. Taking a picnic to the park and enjoying the nice evenings and letting Evelyn play and explore!
I know this picture is blurry but getting a good picture of her lately is almost impossible. She is ALWAYS moving! This is one of her many favorite places in the house. Whenever she escapes  this is usually where I find her, playing with the dishwasher. I think it's because she can see her reflection and she loves it!
She likes to play on the couch, crawling from one side to the other really fast. She can almost climb down all by herself.
 She LOVES this toy!
And I LOVE that smile!
I really think I could smooch her face right off!

Jarom got a new computer for school stuff and he was REALLY excited to make Evelyn her first cardboard box house with the box it came in.

Getting ready to Hike to the Gratto

My favorites! I love these two! I am so blessed!

The beautiful Gratto! I love this place! Easy little "hike" and so pretty!
Especially in the fall with all the pretty colors!
 We hiked to the top.
The "Magic Blanky". I made this little taggy blanky for Evelyn a while ago and she really loves it. She has gotten too wild to snuggle very much anymore (SAD) until recently we figured out this trick. We put the "Magic Blanky" on our shoulder and Evelyn will snuggle with us. It is SO nice! It just melts me every time! Pure bliss!

She loves to tear apart the adds.

In other news...only  5 more days until we go to DISNEYLAND!

Introducing...

Emmaline Grace Lance!

Congratulations to my sis Court and her family on their newest addition!
I love this little sweetie so much already!
What a teensy little gift from heaven!
I would snuggle with her on my chest ALL day if I could!
It sort of helps with my baby hungryness (Yeah I just made that up. I think) but it also makes me even more baby hungry! I just have to keep telling myself "Babies are hard too, not just cute and snuggly all the time!"
I am anxious to get some more Emmaline snuggles right this minute!
Good thing I'm going to see her tomorrow!
Evelyn hasn't had the chance to meet her newest cousin yet because she has been sick :( but she is on the up and up and i think tomorrow she will get to! We'll see how she reacts. Lately she is CRAZY for babies! I think i'll have to hold her back! We'll see!
Anyway, I am just so happy that the little angel made it safely to us and that we all get to be a part of her life!
What a blessing!

Doesn't she look awesome?! You can't even tell that she just had a baby! You go girl! :)

I thought this comparison was fun! They have some similar features! Cute little cousins! Emmaline has WAY more hair than evelyn had. You can't tell in the pictures but it's a lot longer in the back!

We love you Emmaline!
